HanYu

HanYu is a Chinese-English dictionary focused on user. Other dictionaries usually just provide searching. HanYu instead provides searching, editing and many other features.

With HanYu, you will change the way you learn Chinese. For the first time, manage your own dictionary by creating, updating and deleting dictionary’s content. The design of HanYu makes things more intuitive and easier.

Based on CC-CEDICT dictionary files, open source dictionary under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License, HanYu comes with a huge content of more than 100000 entries, it’s just fantastic!

Use the Dictionary to search entries, no matter in Chinese or English. From here, you can also manage the content of your dictionary.

Flashcards organizes your vocabulary lists by theme. An integrated trainer allows you to learn quickly and easily vocabulary.

A Notes organizer lets you take courses notes directly in HanYu or annotate dictionary’s words.

The basic

Besides searching the dictionary, you can also insert new words in it if an entry is missing. Just press the + button and get things done.

Manage the content

This view allows you to edit and manage a single entry in the dictionary.

Modification can be done easily by pressing the Edit button. You can also put the word into a flashcard decks, magnify it and even annotate it.

Also add your own examples if you want to remember how to use a word.

Organize your deck

The Deckbox contains the words of your flashcard deck. You can easily manage your deckbox by adding and removing words. You can also filter the words to choose on which to train.

Statistics keeps tracks of your training session so you can follow your improvement.

The trainer lets start a training session on the words you’ve selected in the Deckbox.

Lets train!

Each card has two faces. The front face can be set up in the Settings panel of your iPhone or iPod touch. The flipped face shows word’s Hanzi, pinyin and translations.

Two buttons lets you select whether you answered correctly or not.

If the session is too long, you can stop it by using the top-left button. The statistics will be based on what you’ve done.
